Nova intereactive

This little interactive instrument on this website, I think, is trying to open our eyes. It shows the density, growth, cities, water, air, climate, forests, land, and habitats. If you compare all of them you can certainly see in a few decades, we're going to have major problems. Most of them having to do with the amount of people on the planet.

What do you think is going to happen within 100 years?

"The battle of Billionaires: China vs. India"

The issue with the number of people in India has been going on for ages. Now many people see how big of a deal it is. There are so many people, the economy just can't handle it. True there are more workers and fighters, so some people may see it as a good thing, but to an extent, it's not. There are so many people, job opportunities just can't keep up. There may be twenty people applying for the same job with no more options. I don't believe it's bad for the government to force families to have small families. Because of the economy, most families couldn't handle many children anyway. Though when you look at it like they government is suppressing them too much, you have to realize, that's basically what the government is there for. They put rules into place to help people. We're being like children sometimes when we complain about the rules. Like children that aren't aloud to have a big ice cream sundae every day because it's just too bad for them.       "India’s population is growing more than twice as fast as China’s — 1.4% versus 0.6% annually." this statistic shows if some law isn't put into place, It'll just get worse.

"Do believe the hype" Article

The author of this article, to me, seems to think we’re in competition with these countries that are starting to grow and prosper. What he’s forgetting is, though they’re rapidly growing, so are we.  The example he used here, with the banking system shows these places in fact are starting to get smart and as he said, due to the “rising number of skilled technologists,” They are starting to catch up to us with the help of technology like computers and cell phones. It’s not like we’re not growing though. Even with little advances like the Ipod, Iphone, Ipad, or whatever. These little things are helping create more useful advances in technology. These things they’ve created are great for their economy. They’re able to access, withdraw, and send money to where ever they like for a loved one or such.  We could even start using technology like that, in some respect. Who wouldn’t want to be able to stop carrying around one more thing? To compact everything into one seems like our goal, and this is another great idea to do so.
